Buying guide
A power bank's headline capacity is cell capacity, not what reaches your phone. Conversion losses mean a 10,000mAh bank realistically returns closer to 6,500mAh, so we publish measured output alongside the rated number.
For a single day away from a socket, 5,000-10,000mAh is enough and stays pocketable. Travel and laptop top-ups need 20,000mAh with at least 45W USB-C output. Anything over 27,000mAh is generally restricted in aircraft cabins, so we avoid listing it.
Magnetic banks are convenient but charge slower and warmer than cabled ones, and we state both figures. Pass-through charging, where the bank charges your phone while itself plugged in, is noted per product because not every model supports it safely.
We use banks with A-grade cells that hold at least eighty percent of capacity after 500 cycles, plus short-circuit and temperature protection. Each unit ships partially charged and safety certified for air travel.
